Coopers Rock WinterFest 2026

February 7th, 10:00-4:00

Get outside and have some winter fun at the 2026 Coopers Rock Winterfest. After over a
decade based out of the Day Use Parking Lot near I-68, the annual Coopers Rock Winterfest
will now be held in the Overlook Area, including Pavilion #1.

*This winter festival is held ‘snow or no snow’, as guided hikes and some activities can be held
regardless of snow.

*This is a FREE event AND a fundraiser. No charge for any activities. To raise funds for
improvements in Rhododendron Campground, we welcome your patronage at our pop-up Coopers Rock Cafe’ (in Pavilion #1) and your donations as well.

*Winter Fashion Alert!!… wear your vintage, colorful, unusual winter clothes to add winter spirit to the gathering.

*Try Out Cross-Country Skiing /gear & instruction provided, 10-3
*Sledding / some sleds provided, 10-4
*Snowman Zone, adjacent to Pavilion 1, 10-4

*Hike Through a Rock Maze. 10-11

*Winter Tree ID Hike — visit some of the two dozen native tree species in the
canyon rimrock environment. 11-12

*Snowman Piñata — kids are welcome to take a few swings with our hockey stick at the
piñata to try and free all the candy hidden inside. 12-12:30

*Winter Tree ID Hike — visit some of the two dozen native tree species in the
canyon rimrock environment. 1-2

*How To Measure A Tree — measure the biggest trees in the Overlook Picnic Area in
3 different ways and combine the 3 numbers to get Total Score. Which tree in this area is the
biggest? 1-2

*Women’s Frying Pan Toss — This event began at the Saranac Lake, NY winter festival
over 100 years ago. We carry on the fun in WV. 3-3:30
